MIDAS AND WULVERN HOUSING
Following a competitive tender process, Midas Construction (Cheshire) was selected to undertake minor work to several properties managed by Crewe’s Wulvern Housing Association. We worked hand-in-glove with BDS Consultants to make sure the projects ran on time and to budget.
THE PROJECT
Structural repair works to the existing property portfolio of Wulvern Housing Association to ensure compliance with current safety legislation and to safeguard the well-being of tenants.
THE CHALLENGE
The most obvious yet difficult was not the works themselves, but the necessity of ensuring minimal disruption to people’s homes and everyday lives. Being flexible is one thing, but accommodating the disparate needs of groups of tenants presented us with a different kind of puzzle, especially where tenants had special needs around access and mobility, or were in any way vulnerable. As ever, safety has to be the primary concern. So, we started with this in mind and devised a carefully thought-out plan to meet Wulvern’s requirements while delivering the project to everyone’s satisfaction.
THE RESULT
We consulted very closely with all stakeholders to balance their differing needs and wants. The upshot was a project delivered on time, in full and to budget, without compromising quality or safety. Steve, the project lead from BDS Consultants, had this to say about our performance: “I have worked Midas on a number of projects and found that the team is helpful and generally hard working. The management keep the work on track and keep us informed with progress. Sites are kept clean and tidy despite the messy nature of the work and the workmanship is of a high standard. I am happy to recommend Jason Marshall and his team from Midas.”
